Why Structural Engineering?

A developing country like Nepal seeks infrastructural developments tremendously and civil engineering skilled manpower is required on large scale to fulfill the requirement. Most of the civil engineering projects include the development of various structures in almost all the fields, like in water supply, hydropower, irrigation, transportation, environmental works, building construction, etc. Structural engineering is necessary to design almost all kinds of objects required for civil engineering projects and the country at present includes structural engineers in less than 150 numbers. One hydropower project may need more than 5 structural engineers and one major building project may require more than 3 structural engineers. In this regard, a country like Nepal, which is moving ahead in a lot of constructive works in the field of civil engineering essentially, requires a huge number of structural engineers in the present context.
